I was a Relate counsellor for 14 years and have worked in a GP surgery, a Youth Counselling Service and run a private counselling and supervision practice since 2000. I have also been training counsellors for over 14 years.
My work covers relationship counselling (with or without a partner) such as separation, divorce, jealousy and coping with affairs, or just working on improving communication and rekindling the sparkle.
I offer individual counselling and have experience as a bereavement counsellor, working with grief and loss, and in dealing with stress, managing illness, anxiety, depression, dealing with events from the past and exploring complex family issues. During my 26 years as a counsellor I have counselled a wide range of issues and difficulties and can work in a variety of ways to suit you.
I am a qualified Family Counsellor.This can include siblings, parents and adult children, as well as younger family members.
My core personal philosophy is Person Centred but I am trained in a wide rage of theoretical approaches including systemic, psychodynamic, CBT and creative techniques. I will use a variety of approaches according to what feels appropriate and effective.
